Q.3. During an epidemic, why should we wear a mask and cover our nose and mouth while travelling in crowded vehicles or visiting hospitals?

Question (5): While working, a carpenter finds that iron nails have mixed with sawdust. Which different methods can the carpenter use to separate them? Which of those methods is the easiest?

Answer :

A carpenter can use these methods to separate iron nails from sawdust:

  1. Magnetic separation: Pass a magnet over the mixture. The iron nails will be attracted to the magnet, while the sawdust will remain behind.
  2. Handpicking: Pick out the iron nails by hand if there are only a few nails.
  3. Sieving: Use a sieve with suitable-sized holes. The sawdust can pass through, while larger nails remain on the sieve.

Easiest method : Magnetic separation is the easiest and fastest method because iron is attracted to a magnet but sawdust is not.
